La Cardabela is located on the edge of the lovely village of Margon in the Languedoc – Roussillon region of South-west France. Typical of the Languedoc Region, Margon is a village of around 400 inhabitants, many of whom are still occupied in some capacity in the production of the local wines. The village has a small shop and restaurant, a thriving school and a great social life. Our guests will be welcome to participate in many of these events, which are held throughout the year. Painting holidays are also available using La Cardabela as a base for some great tuition by prize winning artist Claude Reynier (www.claudereynier.com)

Conveniently located in the heart of the countryside, Margon is just an hour’s drive from the regional capital of Montpellier. The city has managed to bridge the old with the new, with the historic old town blending in with the new development called the Antigone. This development begins at the central Place de la Comedie and continues down to the Regional Parliament building (photo right) on the banks of the river Lez. The historic centres of Agde, Nimes, Narbonne and Carcassone are also within easy reach and well worth a visit.
